If you enjoy surfing or simply spending some time in some great towns, we have compiled a list of some of the most surf friendly towns around.

  • Encinitas, CA – this town not only boasts some incredible waves at Swami’s Beach, but it is also home to Hansen’s Surf Shop. This is a popular destination for surfers during the winter months because of the right point break, reef breaks, and beach breaks. Once you’re done surfing, you can head into town and visit some of the local restaurants or get your shopping fix in. There’s something for everyone in Encinitas.
  • Haleiwa, HI – this is the primary destination for thrill-seeking surfers. During the winter months, surfers can enjoy waves that reach up to 50 feet. If you enjoy surfing at its finest and most thrilling, then you need to visit Haleiwa. When you’ve had enough surfing for the day, you can head into town. There you will find cares, shopping and shaved ice; what more could you want in a surf town.
  • New Smyrna Beach, FL – this is a family-friendly beach with an average temperature of 75 degrees. Surfers who visit this city have the opportunity to enjoy nearly six-miles of beach with some great waves. For those who aren’t so interested in catching a wave, they have the opportunity to stroll through the palm-lined Flagler Avenue. Here you will find some great restaurants, scenery, and of course shopping.
  • Santa Cruz, CA – those who visit Santa Cruz often enjoy the retro feeling of the city. In addition to enjoying some great surfing, you can also snack on some cotton candy or stroll down the boardwalk. Steamer’s Lane is known for some of the best surfing in the country, so if you’re in the area, this is one location that should not be missed.
  • Byron Bay, Australia – for surfers looking for a little more adventure they may want to head on over to Byron Bay. This location offers some great waves at Wategos and The Pass that are sure to impress any surfer. The town features a welcoming atmosphere and plenty of places to grab a bite to eat or something to drink. Don’t forget to take along your official Vintage 52 Tee; you’re bound to get plenty of compliments on it.
